Um grupo de ex-ministros do Meio Ambiente do Brasil lançou ontem, em São Paulo, um manifesto contra o esvaziamento das questões ambientais na pauta da Rio+20, a conferência da ONU que será realizada em junho.
Para eles, ainda "há tempo para salvar" a cúpula e evitar retrocessos.
"Há um elevado risco de que a Rio+20 seja não apenas irrelevante, mas configure um retrocesso. Essa percepção começa a se generalizar e pode conduzir a um esvaziamento da conferência em termos de presença de chefes de Estado e de governo", alerta o documento "Rio mais ou menos 20?", assinado por ex-ministros, economistas, cientistas e políticos.
O manifesto cobra do governo federal mais visão estratégica na condução dos trabalhos para a conferência. Também sugere a adoção de políticas industriais, sociais e de inovação que coloquem o Brasil no caminho de transição para a economia verde.
O conceito de economia verde é um paradoxo para conter qualquer mudança substancial sobre a atividade humana sobre o meio ambiente. O paradigma dos líderes mundiais é aumentar o PIB custe o que custar em termos de meio ambiente.
O documento será entregue ao governo federal. O grupo de ex-ministros aguarda uma audiência com a presidente Dilma Rousseff, ainda este mês, para tentar sensibilizá-la para esta questão. Há duas semanas, Rousseff disse que não haveria espaço para "fantasia" na Rio+20, referindo-se a fontes de energia renováveis.
A posição de todos os grupos de poder dos estados é tímida porque não se acredita nas mudanças climáticas. Há uma atitude de negação e adiamento frente a esses temas. São lideranças políticas com conceitos de progresso social e econômicos antenados em premissas do inicio do século passado.
Essa é a grande diferença desde a Eco-92: se antes havia dúvida quanto ao aquecimento global, a perda de biodiversidade e a situação dos mares, hoje já não há. Temos a ciência indicando claramente que o planeta está encontrando seus limites.
O problema é justamente apenas a ciência aponta para o caos que viverão as futuras gerações graças à incredibilidade das gerações presentes baseadas nas crenças das gerações passadas.
